A Harvest of Good Works

Our parish family gives thanks to God for the completion of more than 250 Good Works as we celebrated our nation’s anniversary and answered the call to bring hope, healing, and peace to our community. Inspired by Jesus’ words, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you,” parishioners generously shared their time, talents, treasure, and compassion in service to others.

This achievement beautifully reflects the message of this Sunday’s readings. The Responsorial Psalm proclaims, “The seed that falls on good ground will yield a fruitful harvest.” Through every visit, donation, act of kindness, and service project, we have witnessed that harvest. What began as simple acts of generosity has borne fruit not only in the lives of those served, but also in the hearts of those who served.

In the Gospel, Jesus teaches the Parable of the Sower, reminding us that seeds planted in rich soil produce an abundant yield. Our 250 Good Works initiative demonstrated how faith put into action can bear fruit “a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.” By responding to God’s call, we became instruments of His grace and visible signs of His kingdom at work in our community.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward to growing as disciples. May we continue to sow seeds of faith, hope, peace, and love wherever God sends us.

Thank you to everyone who participated. May God bless the good work that has been accomplished and continue to multiply its fruits.
