Giving
St. Xavier Church is a welcoming community that embraces longtime parishioners, new families, and all who seek a grace-filled spiritual home. Together, we are building a community where the Holy Spirit transforms our lives in meaningful and creative ways. Your generosity strengthens our community by helping us live our Ignatian values; it sustains our sacramental life, nurtures faith formation, and extends compassionate care to those in need. Your generosity today and planned future gifts provide the resources needed to carry out our parish mission of living the gospel of Jesus Christ, allowing us to celebrate the liturgy and sacraments together, offering a place where all may encounter Jesus, and ensuring the continued vitality of our mission.
Thank you for investing in our shared call to be a faith-filled community and to bear hope and healing in the Ignatian tradition. Below are ways to give and provide immediate or deferred tax benefits for you and your family while supporting the works of St. Xavier Church and the community we serve.
“Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve you as you deserve; to give and not to count the cost."
St. Ignatius of Loyola
Ways to Give
Through St. Xavier Church’s online giving page, you can make a one-time gift or set up a recurring donation. Payments can be made from your bank account, debit card, credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo, or PayPal. Please let Lisa Durr, Business Director, know if you have any questions or need assistance setting it up. Lisa can be reached at ldurr@stxchurch.org or (513) 721–4045 ext. 1005.
To donate by check, make the check payable to “St. Xavier Church” and mail it to 611 Sycamore St., Cincinnati, OH 45202 or drop it in one of the collection boxes on Sunday.
Some employers offer matching gift opportunities to employees/retirees that allow them to make a bigger impact through their donations. To participate, ask if your employer has a matching gift program. If so, fill out the necessary forms, and submit your request! If you need any additional information, reach out to Susanne Wright, Parish Family Director of Engagement and Stewardship, for assistance at swright@stxchurch.org or (513) 721-4045 ext. 1010.
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account. Deposits into the donor advised fund count as tax-deductible donations when you put the funds into the account. At various points in the future, you, as the donor, can direct which charitable organizations should receive the funds and in what amounts. These accounts offer flexibility and can help you support charitable organizations you care about, like St. Xavier Church!
To recommend a grant through your donor advised fund, please request a grant or contact your financial advisor and provide him or her with our Tax ID information: St. Francis Xavier Church, 611 Sycamore St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 (Tax ID 31-0537512). Please contact Lisa Durr, Business Director, at ldurr@stxchurch.org or (513) 721-4045, ext. 1005 if you need help or have any questions.
Appreciated securities are an excellent asset to use in making a charitable gift. You may maximize tax savings by receiving an income tax charitable deduction for the Fair Market Value of the appreciated securities (stocks, mutual funds) and you may avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation while also supporting the mission of your parish.
Electronic transfer is the most efficient way to transfer securities to the Church. Notify your broker that you wish to make a gift of securities to St. Francis Xavier Church. Be sure to tell them:
- The name of the stock that you want to transfer
- The number of shares
- How you would like your gift to be designated, if applicable
Please note that it is imperative to include the DONOR’S NAME in the delivery instructions.
Please contact Lisa Durr, Business Director, about your gift by email at ldurr@stxchurch.org or by calling (513) 721-4045 ext 1005. Lisa will provide the correct account information and transfer instructions that your broker needs.
For those who are 70 1/2 and older, you can make a charitable distribution directly from your qualified IRA plan. To qualify, the distribution must be made directly from your IRA to St. Francis Xavier Church. When done correctly, the amount distributed will not be included in your adjusted gross income. This offers several tax benefits, such as a reduction in taxable income even if you don’t itemize, and possibly reducing the tax on your Social Security benefits. If you must take required minimum distributions (RMD), your charitable contribution can also satisfy all or part of the amount of your RMD. For more information about making a qualified charitable distribution to St. Francis Xavier Church, please contact your IRA custodian or a tax professional. Provide your financial advisor with our Tax ID information: St. Francis Xavier Church, 611 Sycamore St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 (Tax ID 31-0537512). Lisa Durr, Business Director, is available to connect at ldurr@stxchurch.org or (513) 721–4045 ext. 1005 for account information and instructions.
With the help of your bank or financial advisor, you can include St. Francis Xavier Church as a direct beneficiary on an asset (such as a 401(k), IRA, or life insurance policy) by completing a beneficiary designation form. Please list the organization as St. Francis Xavier Church, 611 Sycamore St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 (TaxID 31-0537512). Designating your beneficiaries ensures that the money in your account goes exactly where you intend. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete or update your beneficiary designation(s). It’s a small step that makes a big difference for the future.
A charitable bequest is one of the simplest ways to support St. Xavier Church and can leave a lasting impact. This can be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. With the help of an attorney, St. Xavier Church can benefit by customizing the language in your will or trust that specifies gifting to family, friends, church, and more as part of your estate planning. There are people in our parish community that can provide help if you are seeking guidance to create a will or trust. Please contact Susanne Wright and she will connect you. You can reach Susanne at swright@stxchurch.org or (513) 721-4045 ext. 1010.
It is easy to support St. Xavier Church through Kroger Community Rewards. Please tell all your family, friends, and anyone else who has a Kroger Community Rewards Plus Card to enroll and select St. Xavier Church (search for St. Francis Xavier Church by name or “QN770”). With all the food and gift cards bought throughout the year, it is a great and easy way to help support St. Xavier Church!
